Welcome

Welcome to my blog and thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy looking through some of my recent session pictures.

I'm an on-location photographer serving Nevada City, Grass Valley, Auburn, Rocklin, Roseville, El Dorado Hills, Granite Bay, Lincoln and parts of Sacramento. I can come to your home or we can meet at any number of local parks, ponds or trailheads.

I love my clients, people and pets! I work with all ages from newborn, children, seniors, maternity and families.

My approach to photography is warm and patient, and my style tends toward classic and timeless. Dogs inspire me to be a little goofy and fun. I will work together with you to create beautiful memories and give you top-notch service.

A gift from Grandma ~ {sacramento child photographer}

I do not like to hold onto things for sentimental reasons, whether it’s furniture, paperwork, clothing. So, when my husband’s grandma gave us her bedroom set from the 1920′s, and the vanity and matching stool didn’t fit in our bedroom, I really didn’t want to store it in our garage. While rearranging the garage, it dawned on me that the stool would be a perfect prop! So, I took my youngest out in a field on this stool. I love it!

Family Reunion ~ {Nevada City Photographer}

This lovely family was celebrating their parents’ 50th wedding anniversary.

The patriarch of the family was a photographer himself, and he wanted a portrait very similar to one they had done many years ago. I love it.

I want to have a picture of my husband and me like this on OUR 50th anniversary too. What an amazing couple!

The D Family ~ photography roseville ca

This family sets such an amazing example of love, faith and commitment to those around them. Mrs. D (chuckle) has been my friend for years. We enjoyed a bright, sunny day in one of my favorite new locations.

The D Family~ El Dorado Hills Photographer

When I say I LOVE this family, I really mean it.  They just love their kids and the kids adore them right back. I could have set down my camera and just joined in with them, chatting up a storm and goofing off with the kids.

The skies did not look promising all morning but we were surprised with the sun coming out just enough to take the chill off and really show off the beautiful colors. Well, ok, it was still pretty chilly, but the perfectly lit scenery was all worth it.

Down by the river ~ Auburn, Ca Senior Portraits

I haven’t been down to the Confluence in Auburn with a client for quite a while. It was so much fun! This family loves the outdoors, so hanging out on the trail and near the water was perfect for them. The mom is one of our well loved librarians and I was so happy to photograph her son and daughter for their senior portraits.

Okay, I am not kidding when I say this family knows how to have FUN together. They made me LAUGH. I get such a kick out of families that are goofy together.

We couldn’t have asked for a better prop than this one.

I have always wanted to photograph someone on this bridge over the river. Luckily, we had plenty of family members to be on the lookout for traffic. :)

Thanks, A Family!  :)

Wedding at Ella’s~ Sacramento Wedding Photographer

Just a few from a recent wedding at http://www.elladiningroomandbar.com/  There was a storm raging almost all night while this couple celebrated in class inside this amazing restaurant.

The bride had the most amazing dress! I love the one on the left when he first sees how lovely she is.

I love when the bride and groom laugh during the ceremony! :)

Congratulations to you two! Thanks so much for choosing me to document your night!

Family on the Farm~ Photographer in Placer County

This family’s farm property is a photographer’s DREAM!  Views that go on forever, meadows, landscaping, barns, haystacks and lots of animals. As a primarily outdoor natural light photographer, I was in heaven here. And this family is so much fun! I had no idea this mom could be so wacky until I saw her helping me get her kids to smile. I love this family!

Mom and Dad made for a perfectly balanced pair. One kept the kids behaving nicely and the other kept things natural.

This is one of the meadows that I want in my backyard.

Thank you, M Family! I had a great time with you guys. :)

Have I Told You Lately? ~ Roseville Family Photographer & Roseville Maternity Photographer

This is the song that I was listening to while editing this family’s images. Click the link here —->Have I Told You Lately by Van Morrison   I think it fits this family perfectly! They were crazy in love with each other. I drove home with a smile on my face after watching them hug and kiss and simply enjoy each other.

I knew we were doing good when this was the first picture out of my camera that day.

These lucky kids are just blossoming with their mom and dad’s love.

Their lovely au pair came along to join in the fun too.

I LOVE this one. It completely cracks me up how she is so sweetly cuddling up to him and he is just not having it.

We did a family session combined with a maternity session. I never knew how well it could work to have the kids tag along during maternity portraits. I think they made the images that much more “real”.

This is one of my all time favorite images. We didn’t plan it this way, but isn’t this how life goes with kids? You plan something romantic and then the kids come in and make it their own. Ha!

Lovely end to a lovely evening! This family has since welcomed their baby. Welcome to the world, Isabella!

The Wonderful L Family! ~ Rocklin Family Photographer

I have so many holiday mini sessions I want to share but my computer crashed and I’m working on a very slooooooow backup PC. Here is one recent family that I just loved. I used to think that the photography itself would be the most fun thing about doing this as a business but seriously, it’s meeting wonderful families like this that is just a blast. These boys were so adorable and mom was just gorgeous. It was a rather overcast day, with rain threatening, but we made it with just a few sprinkles falling. :)
