Ashley and Chad ~ Auburn Photographer

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely wedding at The Ridge in Auburn, Ca. My awesome friend, Kristy, over at http://kristylynnphotography.com/blog/ invited me to be her second shooter and I jumped at the opportunity to work with her for the day. And work we did! Who knew that wedding photography was such a strenuous workout, haha! We had so much fun together and photographing this amazing couple was such a pleasure. So, thanks again, Kristy! :)

We had quite a bit of time before the ceremony to capture the bride getting ready.

This is why I had so much fun at this wedding. Ashley was so carefree and relaxed the whole day. It made me wish I could get married all over again and not be such a nervous wreck.

The ceremony itself was absolutely gorgeous.

Kristy was expert at posing and getting the wedding party to interact. I just love how they’re having so much fun here.

Lucky for us, we didn’t have to traipse all around the golf course grounds. We got to drive around in a golf cart, with the lovely bride and groom in back.

Lovebirds. :) You’d think they just got married or something!

Sometimes you just don’t need eye contact. I love how the rainbow is going right through them.

I will confess to tearing up a few times that day. Especially during the reception dancing.

And even more especially during the mother/son and father/daughter dances.

Thank you, Ashley and Chad, for letting me be part of your special day. I enjoyed it more than I can tell you!

Rainbow Baby Ella ~Newborn Photography in Roseville, Ca

I had the most wonderful opportunity to meet with a friend that I’ve only known online over the last several months. Juliet and her husband, Ben, welcomed their first child, a son named Lachlan, last April. He lived for only eight days but was shown a lifetime of love during that short time. Lachlan touched so many hearts, during his life and after, and will never be forgotten.

In the babyloss community, babies born after a loss are often referred to as “rainbow babies”. Last month, Ben and Juliet welcomed their rainbow baby, Ella, into the world. I was SO happy to be able to spend a day with them and photograph Lachlan’s little sister. And can I mention that their Australian accents were delightful!

She is such a serene mother, quietly loving and adoring her baby.

Ella’s Daddy is every bit as loving and tender with her.

She slept so good for me!

I think it’s very evident that Ella will have no shortage of love! :)

I always love creative crops but this one is just my very favorite. I love all the body language.

Ben and Juliet, thank you so much for welcoming me into your home. I’m honored to call you both friends.
